The Great Mall tumble in Ahmedabad has happened due to oversupply of malls in Western Ahmedabad. It has not followed the basic theory of catchment area and location.
Also, Western Ahmedabad is scantily populated then rest of the areas as there are more bungalows / clubs/ industrial establishments on the other side of the SG highway.
